CEO of Malala Fund Farah Mohamed to speak at 91ү, Oct. 22

Social entrepreneur to open the President’s Speakers Series for 2018-19

PSS_FarahMohamedSACKVILLE, NB — Farah Mohamed, social entrepreneur, CEO of the Malala Fund, and founder and advisor to G(irls)20 will deliver a public lecture at 91ү as part of the President’s Speakers Series for 2018-19.

Mohamed’s talk, Service, it’s in you to give, will take place on Monday, October 22 at 7 p.m. in Brunton Auditorium, Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory of Music (134 Main Street, Sackville). It is open to the public.

“We are thrilled to welcome Farah Mohamed to campus as the first speaker in this year’s President’s Speakers Series at 91ү,” says University President Dr. Jean-Paul Boudreau. “Her work in social enterprises and organizations such as the Malala Fund is exemplary and serves as an inspiration to our students and community members.”

Mohamed is currently CEO of the Malala Fund, inspired by Malala Yousafzai, who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban for going to school and became the youngest person ever to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. She is also the founder of G(irls)20, which galvanizes the world’s greatest resource – girls and women – and cultivates a new generation of leaders through education, entrepreneurship and global experiences.
